Adaptive Planning Announces Record 2008 Results and Strong Company Momentum in the Face of Economic Downturn

Record 2008 Results, 67 Percent Win Rate, and Major New Clients Drive Strong Growth as Customers Flock to Adaptive Planning's Unique On-Demand Planning and Reporting Solution

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — January 12, 2009 — Adaptive Planning, the worldwide leader in on-demand financial planning and reporting solutions for companies of all sizes, today announced that 2008 was the company's strongest year in history, more than doubling results from 2007. The company also reported strong momentum in developing new partnerships, product releases, industry recognition, and executive appointments.

Adaptive Planning added 267 new customers in 2008, from a range of business sectors and sizes. An astonishing 67 percent win rate in active engagements allowed Adaptive Planning to continue its rapid growth trend. All told, Adaptive Planning now has over 420 customers across the globe, with thousands more utilizing their open source product.

Recent customer wins include Concur Technologies, Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream (Fort Wayne), KV Pharmaceutical, and Scantron Corporation. Business was very strong in the mid-market, and momentum continued to increase with enterprise customers (companies with over $500 million in annual revenues), which now represent over 20 percent of the company's bookings.

Growth in international markets was also impressive, with international clients now constituting over 15% of the company's client base. In particular, the company more than tripled its UK customers in 2008 and also signed seven new UK partners.

"Our results are very encouraging despite the slowing economy. Our success reflects both the need for planning in tough economic times and the exceptional benefits provided by on-demand software," said William A. Soward, CEO of Adaptive Planning. "We're finding that companies are trying to improve visibility into their forecasts, analyze what-if scenarios, and create multiple plans to ensure they're prepared for any circumstances. And, as illustrated by our outstanding win rate, companies worldwide are seeing tremendous value in the affordable subscriptions, rapid deployments, ease of use, and reduced risk of our software as a service model."

Partner Program Growth

Adaptive Planning entered into several key business partnerships in 2008. It joined the Intel® Business Exchange (Intel® BX), a platform built for small and medium businesses where SMB buyers can discover, research and request a quote for business solutions featuring innovative software and Intel® technology. The company also became a charter member of the Intacct-Ready Partner Program, designed to create an ecosystem of integrated on-demand applications that will provide a fast, easy, and low-cost approach to access best-of-breed solutions. And Oracle announced that Adaptive Planning is a leading ISV using the Oracle® SaaS Platform for the development and delivery of on-demand applications.

Additionally, in 2008 Adaptive Planning dramatically expanded its partner network, more than doubling its domestic and international partner base. In 2008 partners contributed to more than 25 percent of new customer wins.

Innovative Product Offerings

In a separate press release today, Adaptive Planning announced its latest release, Version 5.5, which delivers powerful new collaboration and analysis features, enhances data integration capabilities, and supports full internationalization and localization. This release enhances Adaptive Planning's position as the most powerful, easy to use, and collaborative planning and reporting solution for companies of all sizes.

In June, the company announced Adaptive Planning 5.0, its most significant release to-date, bringing new power, flexibility, and simplicity to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes along with ground-breaking private team collaboration spaces and a public financial best practices community, which collectively improve organizational alignment, collaboration, and strategic business decisions.

The company recently announced a new Recession Survival Kit to help finance and executive teams quickly and successfully gain control over their financial outlook, evaluate the overall cash impact of tactical and strategic actions, and reset financial plans to address economic volatility and the global recession. The solution can go live within a week to help companies make rapid, well-informed decisions for managing through a downturn and ultimately strengthening competitive standing.
